A robot continuously repeats the same motion until the triangle is finally hit and creates a sound.
Triangle is built around the concept of tension. A robot continuously repeats the same spinning motion in an attempt to make a triangle ring. Each time, the robot falls just a little distance short of hitting the triangle, but with each movement, the installation begins to vibrate more. The vibration eventually results in enough momentum for the robot to hit the triangle.
The continuous repetition and the eventual hitting of the triangle have something of the appearance of machine learning, however, nothing could be further from the truth. Triangle operates on brute force and forces its way to "success. The continuous tension that is built up, the continuous moment of "when will the triangle be hit" is the biggest theme of this work. However, the payoff of this movement is minimal.

Een robot herhaalt continu dezelfde beweging totdat de triangel eindelijk geraakt wordt en een geluid creëert.
Triangle is gebouwd rondom het concept van spanning. Een robot herhaalt continu dezelfde draaiende beweging in een poging om een triangel te laten luiden. Telkens komt de robot net een kleine afstand te kort om de triangel te raken, maar met elke beweging begint de installatie meer te trillen. De trilling resulteert uiteindelijk in genoeg momentum voor de robot om de triangel te raken.
De continue herhaling en het uiteindelijk raken van de triangel hebben iets weg van machine-learning, niets is echter minder waar. Triangle werkt op brute kracht en forceert zijn weg naar ‘succes’. De continue spanning die opgebouwd wordt, het continue moment van “wanneer wordt de triangel geraakt” vormt het grootste thema van dit werk. De pay-off van deze beweging is echter minimaal.
